It is essential that SPAN ensures POC are centered and leading this effort to work toward intersectional community building for racial justice. There is space for 30 people in this workshop series. 10 POC have registered and 15 people who identify as white. In these final days of recruitment it is critical to ensure maximum representation from communities of color. We have created a wait list for people who identify as white so as not to continue the trend of overrepresentation of white folks in multiracial social justice settings.
2017 Collective Liberation Series: Intersectional Community Building
SPAN’s Collective Liberation Series 2017 presents
RACIAL JUSTICE THROUGH AN INTERSECTIONAL LENS
January – March 2017
At SPAN we believe in Intersectional Community Building as a necessary tool for achieving social justice. Together we aim to create a space to develop community building where mutual respect and ethical communication are the foundation.
Join SPAN in working toward Collective Liberation. We need each other in the struggle against racism, xenophobia, heteronormativity, and the many ways internalized, interpersonal, institutional, and ideological oppressions inhibit and endanger our lives.
