Amidst the craziness of COVID-19, all of us here at SPAN are trying to focus on the silver linings. SPAN’s Housing and Economic Justice Director, Ashley, touches base on the importance of connection during this time.
Ashley’s Transcript:
“Hi, my name is Ashley and I am the Director of Housing and Economic Justice here at SPAN. Something that has been very uplifting is really seeing how we’re coming together and supporting each other in whatever way we can. Doing our zoom meetings where everyone is piled on top of one another looking like the Brady Bunch, has been a good sense of relief from time to time. Annika, the kitchen manager has been instrumental in helping us drop off food boxes for our clients if they don’t feel comfortable or safe shopping for food for themselves right now. Just knowing that, ya know, despite everything that’s going on we’re really not doing social distancing, it’s physical distancing. We are all trying to remain connected during this time. Just knowing that there is a sense of community gives me hope and faith that we’re going to get through this stronger together.”
