Between the COVID-19 outbreak and recent instances of police brutality against BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color), the past few months have demonstrated the systems of power and injustice that plague our nation and our community. As a social justice organization, breaking down these systems of power and injustice are core to our anti-violence work. We believe that these systems, rooted in inequity, are a key factor to why survivors of domestic violence, specifically survivors of color, lack the resources and economic opportunity to find safety. As a vital resource for low-income survivors in Boulder and Broomfield counties, now is a crucial time to ensure we continue to provide safe shelter, legal advocacy, transitional housing, and counseling services to our community. SPAN largely works to support survivors by advocating to dismantle oppressive systems that perpetuate violence. We need your help to continue that work.
