November Staff Member of the Month: Ruby Johnston
Meet one of our amazing Shelter Advocates, Ruby (she/her) ! Born and raised in Colorado, Ruby has always had a strong passion for social justice and supporting others. Her feminist upbringing, combined with her love of art and her community, led her to pursue her BA and Master’s in Anthropology. Since joining SPAN this past summer, Ruby has been an invaluable advocate for our organization, going above and beyond to support survivors.
Ruby enjoys the unexpectedness of day-to-day life at Shelter, working hard to meet the needs of survivors and their children. Ruby is passionate about listening to survivors and connecting them with resources to help in their healing processes. She understands the importance of supporting survivors with trauma-informed approaches and making Shelter feel like home. Ruby is excited for the upcoming holiday season, hoping to plan a fun movie night for everyone at Shelter!
Thanks Ruby for your empowering work, and if YOU are interested in working with SPAN, check out our current employment opportunities!
