I am writing to echo the appreciation that Ana Silvia Avendano-Curiel and Lisa Darby expressed at last week’s meeting for your support of the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN) and SPAN’s Transitional Housing services.
I’d like to reiterate Ana Silvia’s invitation for you to visit the SPAN Shelter to better understand the context of SPAN’s work and the services we provide to the Boulder community.
My experiences having volunteered and worked at the SPAN Shelter since 2012 include regular conversations with clients around post-Shelter housing needs and the importance of affordable housing programs being in place to support them in their transition out of domestic violence situations. I have seen over and over again how Boulder’s ongoing efforts on this front are profoundly transformative in the lives of these families and individuals. Thank you for your continued support of this work.
