Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, this year’s Chocolate Lovers’ Fling raised more than $485,000 to support survivors and families seeking safety, healing, and hope.
The evening was a powerful reminder of what is possible when people come together to support those impacted by domestic violence. Guests heard from survivor speaker Morgan who spoke about her family’s journey and the life-changing impact of SPAN’s services.
Morgan’s words captured the importance of SPAN’s work:
“I’m here to tell you that domestic violence is deeply embedded in our community, often hidden behind closed doors and picture-perfect lives. Safehouse Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN) cannot be the lifeline it has been for me, and is for thousands of others, without financial resources. Without you. Because of SPAN, and because of people like you, my children will grow up. And I’ll be here for that. Knowing that love does not include fear. That home is supposed to feel safe.”
The funds raised through Chocolate Lovers’ Fling will help ensure that survivors and their children have access to emergency shelter, safety planning, legal advocacy, counseling, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives free from violence.
At a time when many nonprofit organizations face uncertainty due to reductions in federal funding and increasing demand for services, the support of our community is more important than ever. Funds raised through events like Chocolate Lovers’ Fling help ensure that SPAN can continue providing critical services and remain a lifeline for survivors and families when they need it most.
We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, donors, attendees, volunteers, and community partners who made this event such a remarkable success. Your support helps create safer futures and brighter tomorrows for families throughout our community.
Thank you for making SPAN’s mission possible.
