SPAN began providing services in 1979 and is crucial to the network of support that offers critical “safety net” services to vulnerable, low-income and at-risk populations. It is the only organization serving Boulder, western Broomfield, smaller towns and unincorporated Boulder County designed to provide shelter and advocacy for victims of domestic violence.

SPAN Board of Directors
All rights, powers, duties, and responsibilities relative to the control of SPAN’s property and affairs are vested in the Board of Directors. These include program evaluation, stewardship and fundraising, policy setting, and Executive selection and supervision. Members of the Board are elected to provide a range of expertise pertinent to agency operations and to reflect, in composition, the ethnic, age, economic, and geographic diversity of the community.
