Responding to Pressing Needs and Investing in Long-Term Solutions
We are profoundly grateful to the Broomfield Community Foundation for investing in the safety, healing, and stability of survivors in our community. Your partnership is more than financial support. It is a powerful affirmation that every person deserves to live free from violence. By responding to pressing needs while investing in long-term solutions that help Broomfield thrive, the Foundation is making a transformational impact across Broomfield County.
This funding strengthens SPAN’s ability to provide comprehensive, life-saving services and ensures that survivors of domestic violence have access to the support they need—when they need it most.
The Impact of This Grant on Our Community
The impact of this grant will be felt across the entire Broomfield community. By sustaining crisis response, legal advocacy, counseling, housing stability, and prevention education, this investment not only supports individual survivors but also contributes to safer families, stronger systems, and a more informed and compassionate community.
SPAN services promote the fundamental human right to live free from violence, abuse, and oppression, and we remain a trusted, community-based resource—particularly for underserved and marginalized victims who may be hesitant to seek help through traditional systems.
Strengthening a Full Continuum of Care
Through this support, SPAN will continue operating our Emergency Shelter, a 27-bed facility staffed 24/7 and home to our Crisis & Information Hotline. The shelter provides survivors and their children with immediate safety, basic needs, and compassionate resource navigation as they begin rebuilding their lives after violence. As some of the only shelter beds available to domestic violence victims and their children in Broomfield County, this program remains a critical lifeline.
Funding also sustains our Legal Advocacy Program, which offers crisis intervention and advocacy for survivors navigating civil and criminal legal systems. In addition, SPAN operates a Protection Order Clinic at the Broomfield Combined Courts, helping survivors understand their rights and access legal protections that enhance their safety.
Our Outreach Counseling Program continues to address a full continuum of needs—from early intervention to long-term trauma recovery. Services are provided from our office at Broomfield FISH, ensuring accessible and trauma-informed care close to home.
The Transitional Services Program delivers long-term support designed to promote lasting safety and stability. Through case management, housing advocacy, and financial assistance, survivors are empowered to move beyond crisis toward independence and security—strengthening the overall health and economic resilience of our community.
Our Training and Community Education Program advances prevention efforts across Broomfield. SPAN provides violence prevention presentations in local schools and offers technical assistance and training to police, court staff, county staff, and nonprofit partners. These efforts deepen community understanding of intimate partner violence and its disproportionate impact on marginalized victims, strengthening our collective response and helping prevent future harm.
A Partnership That Helps Broomfield Thrive
Because of the Broomfield Community Foundation’s leadership and generosity, survivors in our community have access to safety, dignity, and hope. This grant does more than sustain services—it reinforces a community-wide commitment to ensuring that everyone in Broomfield can live free from violence.
