This summer, SPAN had the privilege of working with a former client, Leaha Silvas, and her family to create a video sharing her story. Leaha was a victim of domestic violence for the entirety of her 10-year marriage. She endured intense physical, emotional, sexual, and financial abuse at the hands of her ex-husband which has left her with lasting health impacts. Finally, Leaha was able to escape with her three children and her dog and found SPAN. SPAN advocates supported Leaha find safe housing and legal support as she started her new life in Colorado.
Here at SPAN, we could not be more grateful to Leaha and her family for creating this video with us and increasing awareness about the issue of domestic violence.
