Every year, hundreds of moms come to SPAN fleeing dangerous situations seeking safety and refuge from domestic violence. Leaving is the most dangerous time for survivors, as perpetrators become even more extreme with their actions to maintain power and control. The decision to leave is made even more difficult for survivors when considering the safety and well-being of their children. We understand the courage and planning it takes to leave a violent household, and we are here to support survivors at any stage in the process. Here at SPAN, we work to empower mothers to make the decisions that are right for them and their families.
