Since 1979, SPAN has supported survivors of domestic violence and their children. In 40 years, over 330,000 survivors have used SPAN’s services. On October 10th, we gathered close friends, donors, and the community to commemorate 40 years of community commitment. Survivor, Author and former SPAN client, Alicia McMahon spoke at the event and shared her incredible story. Alicia lived in SPAN’s shelter in 1996 with her two young daughters, Brennalynn and Seanalee.
“I stand in front of you today with my heart on my sleeve, my family’s lives, and its trajectory would not be the same without the help and support we received from SPAN. This program saved my family.” said Alicia.
Thank you to everyone that came to our 40th anniversary reception. And most importantly, thanks to this community for supporting our organization’s mission to provide shelter, counseling, advocacy and education to Boulder and Broomfield counties for 40 years. We couldn’t have done it without you!
