December Staff Member of the Month: Eduardo Yáñez
After joining SPAN just over a year ago, Eduardo (he/him) quickly became a leading member of our Advocacy and Education Team. Growing up in Denver, in a predominantly Spanish-speaking area, he has always been driven to strengthen and support his community. Although Eduardo is a lover of books, movies, and spending time with his friends; he is especially passionate about advocating for LGBTQ+ youth and creating inclusive violence-prevention curriculum.
As the Spanish Bilingual Youth Violence Prevention Educator, Eduardo easily connects and engages with students about healthy relationships and consent. Eduardo equips students with terms, tools, and resources to help eliminate violence and goes above and beyond to build safe spaces in their schools. Eduardo hopes to see violence-prevention curriculum continue to grow and include LGBTQ+ harm reduction in the future. And someday, Eduardo hopes to become teacher himself, and support students in his classroom every day!
Thank you, Eduardo, for the amazing work you do on behalf of youth in our community!!
