March Staff Member of the Month: Spanish Bilingual Administrative Assistant, Leonor Toro-Bolet!
Meet our wonderful Spanish Bilingual Administrative Assistant, Leonor (she/her)! Leonor and her husband moved to the United States from Venezuela in 2003 and have called Colorado home for over 18 years. Shortly after arriving in Boulder, Leonor taught Spanish in an after-school program at Douglas Elementary School and thereafter became a full-time, accredited preschool teacher for over 7 years. Later on, she worked as a volunteer and attended English classes at Intercambio and quickly became passionate about supporting non-native English speakers like herself. Leonor’s joy for being of service, strengthening her community, plus her B. A. degree in Business Administration, and her intense training in personal growth techniques soon led her to SPAN. Since joining our team in 2012, Leonor has dedicated her time to being of use to SPAN’s programs, helping clients, and warmly welcoming all who come to our Outreach Center.
As our Spanish Bilingual Administrative Assistant, Leonor keeps our office running! Leonor does everything from accepting donations, answering phones, to all our Spanish translations. Her energy and organization help keep our programs available and accessible to everyone in our community. Leonor is quick to help when she is needed and makes clients feel at home as they seek out our services. Though her position is often met with unexpected tasks, Leonor is always ready to work and brings creativity to each project. Leonor is continuously inspired by survivors as they heal and flourish in their new independent lives and is grateful for the opportunity to connect with clients in her position.
Thank you, Leonor, for all your hard work! We couldn’t imagine SPAN without you!
